<< BACK HEY THERE...
In my artistic practice I am focused on capturing human movement. I am very aware that the words "capture" and "movement” are quite the opposites and I see this as an important subject in my work as a photographer. Almost all of my photos feature three elements: people, nature and styling. I use these in a random order in the image. In this way I ensure that, for example people, are not always the main focus, but the three elements alternate equally, depending on the idea behind the photo shoot. Furthermore, I think beauty is an important addition to a photo, because a specific experience can be evoked by the viewer. I believe that a clear aesthetic identity can be understood by everyone, all over the world. The search for this identity is comparable to the working method of an 18th-century painter. I start with a model, outfit or environment. I then compile an image by adding the other elements to it. With the question "What do I show and what do I leave behind?", My photo results as the contemporary variant of the classic painted still life.
